And the night of dreams quickly turns into a true ...。电影改编自Colin Escott所著的汉克·威廉姆斯的自传，故事将围绕着乡村音乐巨星威廉姆斯的声名鹊起之过程以及29岁的猝死。故事舞台设置在二战后的美国阿拉巴马州，21岁的汉克·威廉姆斯相比缺少演唱才能的妻子Audrey Mae（伊丽莎白·奥尔森 饰），已经成为了当地电台和酒吧俱乐部的红人。他的演唱事业由Audrey和他的妈妈Lillie（切莉·琼斯 饰）经营，但显然两个女人的相处并不融洽。这与Audrey的表现关系不大，而是汉克的妈妈似乎不喜欢他身边的任何女人。相同的矛盾也发生在了汉克的第二任妻子Billie Jean Jones（马蒂·海森 饰）和他的女朋友Bobbi Jett（Wrenn Schmidt 饰）身上。。
