皮特在一次晚会上邂逅了无人搭讪的南希，于是两人一直都保持联系，关系越来越好。然而某天，皮特两夫妇回家发现了南希上吊而死，二人报了警。在警方的侦查过程中发现南希并不是自杀，而一切的矛头都指向皮特身上……。An old friend of a private detective is murdered.
