The series tells the story of an extended family and four young people who are drawn into the world of ska and two-tone music, which exploded from the grassroots of Coventry and Birmingham in the late 70s and early 80s, uniting black, white, and Asian youths. Against this backdrop, it tells the story...。一家在三更时分营业的旅店“三更客栈”，既是接收存放尸体的义庄，又是活人歇脚的旅店，在关闭十年之后，重新开张，吸引来了几拨不速之客。客人的目的竟然都是要认领一具死去数年的尸体，为此几位客人各执一词，讲述自己跟这具尸体之间各种离奇的关联。。讲述了在20世纪初期，日本妄图“名正言顺”接手在华权益，通过不平等的比赛夺取领地，其中有一座清城，日本组织了一场“桌网球比赛”妄图接管城市，就这样，一支临时组建的三教九流的球队，一名残疾的酒鬼教练，一场赢则死输则辱的赌局，最终缔造“中国国球”诞生并响彻世界的惊险传奇。。
