《一位年轻医生的笔记》是由英国有线电视网Sky频道开发，该剧根据俄罗斯作家Mikhail Bulgakov的短篇小说改编，讲述了一位一战期间俄罗斯军医的故事。乔·哈姆就饰演这位主角，而丹尼尔则饰演年轻时候的他。据悉，哈姆将负责故事的旁白部分，通过“口述回忆”串联起在战争期间他走过的青春岁月，他将于年轻的他（丹尼尔饰演）在很多特别的场景中实现交汇互动。这种两个不同时空同一人的感觉颇和《环形使者》的理念有些相似，不过《一位年轻医生的笔记》却不是一部科幻剧，只是借助此法来构造出一种文学表达形式。。Young Cuban Rafael just buried his mother, and comes to Houston to meet his father John for the first time.
