香港富商张老板年轻时为了事业遗弃自己妻子和女儿，后来自己查出患有癌症，将不久于人事，变想找回这对母女，更想让自己的女儿继承自己的遗产。于是委托叶枫前往寻找，哪知道叶枫去的路上意外发生了车祸，车跌落山崖，还好没有受伤，可惜的是山崖下是大海，没有路可以走出来。 叶枫和路上相识的画家年华俩人开始了艰难的旅程。 叶枫半夜偷走年华的淡水和打火机悄悄离开，哪知道自己不幸的被蝎子给叮了，昏倒在了沙滩上。年华不计前嫌，给叶枫吸出毒血，还一直照顾叶枫直到他痊愈，俩人也患难见真情，成为了好朋友。 离开海岸线后，找到了要找的人，可惜，妈妈已经离开人事，还好女儿还在，并跟随叶枫前往香港，总算完成了使命。。大学生麦克（帕特里克·德姆西 Patrick Dempsey 饰）在圣诞节期间来到加拿大拜访他的女友盖布瑞拉（詹妮弗·康纳利 Jennifer Connelly 饰）和她的家人。然而，当他到达时，盖布瑞拉却告诉麦克，她已经不再爱他。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
