登山人全都面临着一个残酷的高山法则：一旦海拔超过8千米，面对失事的队友或亲人就只能“见死不救”，由此产生的人性碰撞与伦理矛盾发人深省。 在西藏登山队征服全世界14座8000米以上高峰的登山活动中，高山摄影师仁青困在了珠峰上的冰裂缝中，妻子德吉和生死兄弟登山队队长巴桑无奈放弃了营救，但下山后他们却又陷入了忏悔与纠结之中，他们无法面对仁青的儿子岗热。 岗热是新一代登山人，他一直在追查父亲的死因，当得知父亲的尸体在珠峰上重现的时候，他决定冒险登珠峰，但母亲德吉想尽一切办法阻止他登山。 岗热的女友卓嘎卖掉了甜茶馆，与岗热一起参与了一次商业登山，在珠峰上，他们同样也遭遇了高山法则，两难的处境同样也摆在了他们的面前……。Graduation is looming and the seniors of Lawndale High are busy with college preparations.
