华江钢铁公司原是一家地处川滇交界的国家钢铁骨干企业，曾在1960年代创造了生产上的奇迹，但走到1979年已举步维艰，许多职工一心调走。危难之时，总经理田耕（翟俊杰）许诺不久的将来会让华钢旧貌换新颜。随后，他与党委书记肖沛成（黄凯）及做了他大半辈子坚实后盾的总经济师仲天文（郑在石）商议，向国务院递呈了华钢承包责任制方案，承诺会在头年上缴5千万利润的基础上，逐年向政府上缴递增7%的利润，获批准。 田耕的改革大刀阔斧却略带专横：得知看重的已婚年轻人蓝雨濛（唐国强）与助理工程师冯璐（王姬）“沉溺”于儿女情长时，他不问青红将鸳鸯棒打后任蓝作副总经理；甚至希望音乐前程一片大好的女儿嫒媛将来也回华钢工作，但媛媛决定完成母亲江静雯（穆宁）未竟的事业——江静雯原本也可在音乐上有很大作为，却为了田耕将事业放弃。 为了完成6年内将利润翻一番的目标，田耕再向国务院递交同国际银团借贷2亿3千万美元建设二期工程的方案，又获支持。但在此问题上，因为国际银团提出以华钢的固资产做抵押方可贷款，仲天文与他发生激烈争执且坚决不让步，无奈之下，田耕忍痛作出外调仲天文支援宝钢建设的决定，自己带着蓝雨濛来到北京签署了贷款合同。而在华钢二期工程如期开工后，他深知借贷的巨款需要留待后任蓝雨濛和华钢的全体职工去偿还，并醒悟自己欠下了太多的亲情、友情债。。若然未报，时辰未到，报应始终会来。 五名好友因一时疏忽造成了一起严重车祸，他们决定一起毁尸灭迹掩盖真相。一年后，一个知晓该事件的神秘杀手在暗处伺机夺取他们的生命，而他们发现相似的事件曾在数年前发生过，他们决定向当时的两位幸存者 (詹妮弗·洛芙·休伊特、小弗雷迪·普林兹饰) 求助。。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。
