崔凯是一个过气的作家，失业宅在家里过着窘迫的生活。某日接到编辑胡言邀约：创作一本恐怖系列的小说。这使他重新振作起来。可接下来的创作过程并非一帆风顺，他的文笔大不如前，找不到曾经的创作激情与灵感。随着编辑的不断催促，他深深地陷入压抑与焦躁之中。他终日躲在封闭的房间里冥思苦想，怪事也从此随之而来……。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee). Rutherford explains that he owes his current incapacitation to an attack by an inmate. Rutherford reveals his unorthodox plan to determine Martin's suitability for the post of head...。
